Setting up Your Domain
Set up instructions depend on the control panel you have selected. If you have opted to setup your server without a control panel, then you will be responsible for the setup your domain manually.
Reference the corresponding control panel below for reference regarding setting up a domain on your server:
Upload Your Files
Once you have setup your domain, you may upload your files to your server. Each control panel contains a file manager option to assist you, or you may choose to use any File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client for uploading your files. Please note, when using a 3rd party FTP client, you will need to use port 21. For more information, see How To FTP Your Server.
Remember, when uploading your files and accessing your site for preview, use your server IP address as the nameservers have not been updated to reflect the change. Once you have tested your site, you may set up your DNS.
Setting up Your DNS
Once you set up a domain and created a zone file in your control panel, you will need to create and register two domain hosts for your domain. You will use these domain hosts when reassigning your name servers.
After you have registered your domain hosts, you will need to modify the nameservers on your domain to reflect your new domain hosts.Unparking (Activating) Your Domain Name
Note: It may take 24 to 48 hours to register hosts.
**For all mailboxes and databases currently on your shared accounts, create appropriate mailboxes and databases in your control panel on your server. Also, recreate custom DNS configurations associated with your shared hosting account with in your control panel.
