I've been having trouble FTPing into my US cPanel hosting when I'm out of the country. It happened while I was on vacation in Mexico... and I thought, well, I was in Mexico! 😉 But I'm on an extended trip in Canada right now and I'm having the same problem. It appears that GoDaddy is blocking FTP connections that initiate with a non-US IP address.
Has anyone else heard of this being a problem? And is there any way around it other than to use a VPN to get a US IP address before FTPing?
We shouldn't be intentionally blocking all outside of the US connections to our services. Possible this could be an automated security precaution for your account not recognizing the new IP attempting to access your account. Generally a quick call/chat with our live support teams can help to review and get the IP block removed and allowing connections to the account again.
