    Trying to add Trustpilot trustbox to site without success

    Hi all, really struggling to get a Trustpilot trustbox on my site, it requires two pieces of code to be added to the site. The second code is no problem, I can place this where required, it's the first process I cannot complete which requires the following,

    Copy-paste this code inside the <head></head> section of your website’s HTML or as close to the top of the page as possible.

    Can anyone tell me how this can be acheived ?

    Thanks in advance

    Glenn

    Try placing both snippets of code in the same HTML section.

    <!-- Javascript-->
    <script ...

    <!-- HTML ->
    <div ....

    If it still does not show set a height for the HTML section that is a little bigger than the widget.

    I have not tried this particular service but it should work if the widget position is static (like normal content).  The platform is not compatible with pop-up modals or widgets that are fixed to the screen.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the suggestion, it didn't work, both pieces of code in the same box produces nothing, just the second piece of code produces the word "trustpilot" in small letters with no logo, it is clickable and takes you to Trustpilot but doesn't look good.

    It may not be compatible.  You can post the code and I'll see if I can get it to work.

    Click the </> Insert Code button in the formatting toolbar
    to paste the code into a box like this.

    Re: Trying to add Trustpilot trustbox to site without success

    <!-- TrustBox script -->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="//widget.trustpilot.com/bootstrap/v5/tp.widget.bootstrap.min.js" async></script>
    <!-- End TrustBox script -->
    Copy-paste this code into the HTML of your website where you’d like your TrustBox to appear.

    <!-- TrustBox widget - Micro Star -->
    <div class="trustpilot-widget" data-locale="en-GB" data-template-id="5419b732fbfb950b10de65e5" data-businessunit-id="5c8662ecfe65b00001182be9" data-style-height="24px" data-style-width="100%" data-theme="light">
    <a href="https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/e-gobike.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trustpilot</a>
    </div>
    <!-- End TrustBox widget -->

    Ok, so that's the 2 pieces of code the instruction for the first is;

    Copy-paste this code inside the <head></head> section of your website’s HTML or as close to the top of the page as possible.

    The second is;

    Copy-paste this code into the HTML of your website where you’d like your TrustBox to appear.

    What I should end up with is this

    Re: Trying to add Trustpilot trustbox to site without success

    What I've found is the JavaScript tries to load an iframe using http, but browsers silently block this as the site is on https.

    <iframe style="position: relative; height: 24px; width: 100%; border-style: none; display: block; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" title="Customer reviews powered by Trustpilot" src="http://widget.trustpilot.com/trustboxes/5419b732fbfb950b10de65e5/index.html?templateId=5419b732fbfb950b10de65e5&amp;businessunitId=5c8662ecfe65b00001182be9#locale=en-GB&amp;styleHeight=24px&amp;styleWidth=100%25&amp;theme=light" frameborder="0"></iframe>

    Using the browser's built-in Developer Tools I can change it to https after the fact and it works (or manually overriding the SSL verification).

    <iframe style="position: relative; height: 24px; width: 100%; border-style: none; display: block; overflow: hidden;" scrolling="no" title="Customer reviews powered by Trustpilot" src="https://widget.trustpilot.com/trustboxes/5419b732fbfb950b10de65e5/index.html?templateId=5419b732fbfb950b10de65e5&amp;businessunitId=5c8662ecfe65b00001182be9#locale=en-GB&amp;styleHeight=24px&amp;styleWidth=100%25&amp;theme=light" frameborder="0"></iframe>

    I am not sure if they have a parameter to force the widget to only use https, but loading the JavaScript over https doesn't do it.  Technically the second code above would show the rating on it's own, but you should check with the provider if this would be allowed or if there's a better option.

    Wow Nate,

    Thank you very much for that, I will get back to Trustpilot and see if they can resolve this issue armed with your info.

    Regards

    Re: Trying to add Trustpilot trustbox to site without success

    hello I am also having the same problem with adding trustpilot boxes

    Did you get any feedback from Trustpilot?

    I called Godaddy and they wont allow any access to header html

    i am sure you found out the same

    Would love to hear what you have found! Thanks

    Re: Trying to add Trustpilot trustbox to site without success

    Hi,

    No I didn't get anywhere with either, Trustpilot told me to speak to Godaddy and Godaddy said they can't help with 3rd party applications, they have both since asked for feedback and I have let them know how I feel.

    Having said that I used the code Nate modified and it works perfectly, I now have a micro star trustbox on the top and bottom of every page.

    I'm assuming there are several aspects of that code that are unique to my website and the type of Trustbox I chose so I doubt you can use it as it is.

     Many thanks Nate
