How to transfer cPanel emails to a different provider?

I'd like to switch to using HostPresto hosting, but I want to keep emails that I already have. In other words, transferring my email addresses and actual email history. I appreciate that this may not be possible, but if there is a way, any help would be much appreciated.

If your new host is also cPanel -- that's pretty easy.  😉
