I'm looking at forwarding my domain to another site. Looks pretty straightforward, however, I'm not clear on how this impacts email. I have my mx records setup for mail hosting elsewhere, and want to ensure any domain forwarding doesn't impact that.
Can anyone confirm that setting up forwarding will not impact an mx record where the same domain is used for email?
I'm not clear what the "Update my nameservers and DNS settings to support this change." option does and don't want to hose my email.
Hi @ratlhead. Thanks for being part of GoDaddy Community!
If your domain is already using GoDaddy nameservers, letting the forwarding update DNS shouldn't affect your other DNS records. However, to be safe, I'd suggest backing up your domain zone file, just in case something doesn't go as planned.
