Can you use Lets Encrypt SSL on Managed WordPress sites

Are you allowed to use lets encrypt certificates on managed wordpress sites?

    1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

This guide explains it step by step for cPanel accounts running wordpress.

The best alternative for managed WP hosting users without cPanel is to switch hosting providers, fortunately the turbo package from a2 hosting had one-click letsencrypt and HTTP/2 protocol support and a lightning fast optimization engine through softaculous called WP a2 optimized. Here is the link to the plans + pricing https://www.a2hosting.com/wordpress-hosting and don't forget turbo or managed are the only ones that support http/2 at this point and caching has to be enabled separately in the cPanel.

What's the best way to pass them the Let's Encrypt certificate?

Was anyone successful in getting GoDaddy to accept/use a Let'sEncrypt cert?

I'm wondering the same thing. Has anyone gotten it to work? I used the WP Encrypt Plugin, but it's not stored in a place that anything can find it. I'm still being told that my connection is not secure.

    any solutions?

i'm trying to figure this one out, too.

I'm looking for a solution here too. Just signed up for Managed WordPress hosting and everything went smoothly except for certificates. Trying to get the GoDaddy provided one to work now as a short-term solution but that's proving troublesome as well.

GoDaddy, please provide a method for using LetsEncrypt on WordPress Managed Hosting.

    barahona06,

What is your method for getting this to work?
I assume you used the WP Encrypt plugin.
I see where WP Encrypt has stored the certificates on the file system. How do I tell GoDaddy to use those certs?

There is no way to install a 3rd party SSL from any provider on Manged WordPress Hosting. The only way to get an SSL on Managed WordPress is with a GoDaddy certificate purchased in the same account as the hosting. You can find all of our SSL plans, pricing, and information here:

    https://www.godaddy.com/web-security/ssl-certificate

Why is there a WP Encrypt plugin then?

    Anyone got any solutions yet?

Managed Wordpress does not have CPanel. Also, it doesn't look like that video completes a successful LetsEncrypt installation as he's just copying and pasting a single certificate, not setting up the LetsEncrypt renewal as a cron job.

Your reply is of no help to this thread.
