Unable to forward domain to www.

Have a working https://website.com and https://www.website.com was redirecting to https://website.com. Wanted to do the contrary, non-www to point to https://www. Started to play with DNS and added a main domain forwarding rule "Forwards to https://www." and checked the "Update my nameservers and DNS settings to support this change". It didn't help so I removed the rule.

    Current DNS settings are :taxi.PNG

Re: Unable to forward domain to www.

Hi @vraithe. There isn't currently an option to use www.domain.com as your domain if you use GoCentral. As you've noticed, forwarding your domain to the WWW for the domain won't work for this. Among other things, our forwarding service does not accept HTTPS requests. However, keep in mind that having www or not does not have an effect on how your site functions or whether or not it will appear in search engines. You may find this interesting:

Thank you very much Jesse! I was in fact concerned with google search visibility

Re: Unable to forward domain to www.

Jessie, I understand it does not affect not website functionality and in search engines. However, it does look good to the eyes when the website has www in it. I have the exact same concern, and I tried forwarders but no luck. My website is hosted on GoCentral and I would like for it to work. The technical  support also told me the same thing what the guy in the video said. But isn't it ironic that when we type godaddy.com it redirects to www.godaddy.com and the same thing is not available to its customers. Isn't there anything can be done so that it works?

Hi @as-lpf. Thanks for posting. You can try the workaround mentioned here. That may work for you. I didn't mention it previously because we were having an issue with our forwarding service and it wouldn't have worked. However, that's been addressed now. I haven't tested the workaround recently, but it should still work if done correctly.

@as-lpf otherwise if you want more flexibility and control, if you and computers are friends, if you are willing to learn a new platform and recreate your current website from beginning, I recommend to switch to Wordpress hosting like I did.
